The Manifestation of Shiva as Dvijeśvara
भद्रायुरपि सुप्रीत्या प्रसादम्प्राप्य शूलिनः । सहितः कीर्तिमालिन्या बुभुजे विषयान्बहून्
bhadrāyurapi suprītyā prasādamprāpya śūlinaḥ | sahitaḥ kīrtimālinyā bubhuje viṣayānbahūn
Bhadrāyu too, having won through deep devotion the gracious favour (prasāda) of Lord Śiva, the Trident-bearer, lived together with Kīrtimālinī and enjoyed many lawful worldly experiences—sustained by Śiva’s benediction.

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Mahadeva
Significance: Illustrates Śiva’s anugraha: through bhakti one may enjoy dharmic artha–kāma without losing the path, when life is ‘sustained by Śiva’s prasāda’.
Role: nurturing
The verse teaches that Śiva’s prasāda (grace) can harmonize worldly life with dharma: when devotion is sincere, enjoyment is no longer mere bondage but becomes regulated and uplifted under the Lord’s blessing.
By naming Śiva as Śūlin (the personal, Saguna Lord), the verse emphasizes devotion to Śiva’s manifest form—commonly approached through Liṅga-worship—through which the devotee receives prasāda that steadies both life and spiritual direction.
The implied practice is bhakti that seeks prasāda: regular Śiva-pūjā (especially to the Liṅga), japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and living with restraint so that sense-enjoyments remain dharmic and non-binding.
