Without delay, swift Hanumān—the foremost among the Vānaras—came near Lord Rāma and offered him Sītā’s crest-jewel.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Paśupatinātha
Jyotirlinga: Rāmeśvara
Sthala Purana: On the seashore before crossing to Laṅkā, Rāma receives auspicious confirmation (Sītā’s jewel via Hanumān) and proceeds toward the worship/establishment of Śiva as Rāmeśvara, seeking Śiva’s grace for victory and safe passage.
Significance: Worship of Rāmeśvara is held to remove obstacles before major undertakings, confer victory through dharma, and grant purification and Śiva’s anugraha.
It highlights bhakti expressed as immediate, disciplined service—Hanumān’s swiftness and fidelity become a model for the devotee who acts without hesitation in dharma, a key Shaiva virtue for purifying the mind toward Shiva-realization.
Though the scene is from the Rama narrative, the Shiva Purana uses such episodes to teach Saguna-bhakti: devotion becomes tangible through offering, remembrance, and loyal service—qualities equally central to Linga-worship where inner devotion is expressed through outward acts.
The takeaway is prompt, steady practice: daily japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a seva-attitude—acting without delay in one’s vows, purity, and worship—so devotion becomes lived discipline.
