Account of Śiva’s Śārabha Manifestation and the Measureless Avatāras
तया च व्याकुलं जातं सर्वं चैव जगत्पुनः । देवाश्च दुःखमापन्नाः किम्भविष्यति वा पुनः
tayā ca vyākulaṃ jātaṃ sarvaṃ caiva jagatpunaḥ | devāśca duḥkhamāpannāḥ kimbhaviṣyati vā punaḥ
Because of her, the entire world again became disturbed and agitated. The devas too fell into sorrow, thinking, “What will happen now?”

It highlights how worldly and even celestial stability can be shaken by powerful events, and that such agitation ultimately points beings toward seeking Pati (Lord Shiva) as the supreme refuge who restores balance and grants inner steadiness.
When the devas are overwhelmed by uncertainty, the Shaiva teaching is to approach Shiva in a worshipable form—especially the Shiva Linga—as the accessible Saguna manifestation through which His protecting grace (anugraha) calms disorder and removes fear.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with steady breath, optionally wearing rudraksha and applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma), to pacify agitation and cultivate Shiva-centered composure.
