त्रिपुरदीक्षाविधानम् — Tripura Dīkṣā: Prescriptive Procedure
Chapter on the Ordinance of Initiation
त्रिपुराधिप उवाच । दीक्षा देया त्वया मह्यं निर्मलाशय भो ऋषे । अहं शिष्यो भविष्यामि सत्यं सत्यं न संशयः
tripurādhipa uvāca | dīkṣā deyā tvayā mahyaṃ nirmalāśaya bho ṛṣe | ahaṃ śiṣyo bhaviṣyāmi satyaṃ satyaṃ na saṃśayaḥ
The Lord of Tripura said: “O sage of pure intent, bestow dīkṣā upon me. I shall become your disciple—true, true; there is no doubt.”
Tripurādhipa (the Lord of Tripura)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It highlights humility and readiness for transformation: even a powerful ruler seeks dīkṣā, affirming that spiritual authority comes through purity, surrender, and the guru’s grace—key to liberation in a Shaiva Siddhanta lens.
Dīkṣā typically leads the seeker into disciplined Saguna Shiva worship—mantra, pūjā, and inner devotion—through which the mind is purified and becomes fit to realize Shiva’s higher, transcendent reality.
The verse points to receiving mantra-dīkṣā from a qualified guru and then practicing regular japa and worship; in Shiva Purana practice this often aligns with Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") alongside Shaiva disciplines like bhasma and rudrākṣa where appropriate.
