त्रिपुरदीक्षाविधानम् — Tripura Dīkṣā: Prescriptive Procedure
Chapter on the Ordinance of Initiation
इत्येवं तु वचः श्रुत्वा दैत्यराजस्य निर्मलम् । प्रत्युवाच सुयत्नेन ऋषिस्स च सनातनः
ityevaṃ tu vacaḥ śrutvā daityarājasya nirmalam | pratyuvāca suyatnena ṛṣissa ca sanātanaḥ
Having thus heard the pure and straightforward words of the king of the Daityas, that eternal sage replied with careful deliberation.
Sanātana Ṛṣi (the eternal/venerable sage, replying to the Daitya-king)
Tattva Level: pashu
It highlights a Shaiva ethic: even amid conflict, purity of speech (nirmalatā) and a measured, disciplined response reflect sattva and dharma—qualities that support inner purification on the path toward Shiva-realization.
Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is not only ritual but also conduct: the devotee cultivates nirmala vāk (pure speech) and restraint. Such disciplined speech mirrors reverence toward Saguna Shiva and prepares the mind for deeper contemplation of the Linga’s transcendent meaning.
Practice mindful speech as a vrata: before japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), pause, steady the breath, and respond only after inner recollection of Shiva—supporting japa, bhasma-dhāraṇa, and daily worship with ethical clarity.
