भूतत्रिपुरधर्मवर्णनम् (Description of the Dharma/Conduct of the Bhūta-Tripura) — Chapter 3
तत्र गत्वा हरिं दृष्ट्वा प्रणेमुर्जातसंभ्रमाः । तुष्टुवुश्च महाभक्त्या कृतांजलिपुटास्सुराः
tatra gatvā hariṃ dṛṣṭvā praṇemurjātasaṃbhramāḥ | tuṣṭuvuśca mahābhaktyā kṛtāṃjalipuṭāssurāḥ
Going there and beholding Hari (Viṣṇu), the gods—filled with sudden awe—bowed down. With palms joined in reverent añjali, they praised Him with great devotion.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Type: stotra
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
It highlights bhakti expressed through humility—darśana (beholding the Divine), namaskāra (bowing), and stuti (praise). In Shaiva understanding, such reverent surrender purifies the mind and prepares one to receive grace (anugraha), whether the form worshiped is Viṣṇu or Śiva.
The verse models saguna-upāsanā: approaching a manifest form with awe, folded hands, and praise. The same devotional posture applies to Liṅga worship in the Shiva Purana—darśana of the Liṅga, respectful prostration, and recitation of stotras as outward signs of inner surrender to Pati (Śiva).
Practice añjali with attentive mind during darśana, offer namaskāra, and perform stuti/japa with devotion—e.g., mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” while maintaining reverence and steadiness.
