ततः पराजिता दैत्या अप्यभूवन्महोत्सवाः । जगर्जुरधिकं व्यास समरायोद्यतास्तदा
tataḥ parājitā daityā apyabhūvanmahotsavāḥ | jagarjuradhikaṃ vyāsa samarāyodyatāstadā
Then, though they had been defeated, the Daityas became as if in great celebration. O Vyāsa, at that time, readying themselves again for battle, they roared all the more loudly.

In Shaiva reading, the battle mood underscores the need to take refuge in Saguna Śiva (worship of the Liṅga) for strength and clarity; without that anchoring, the mind’s Daitya-like impulses can regroup and surge again.
A practical takeaway is disciplined japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and a daily resolve to restrain recurring impulses—treating them like returning foes in inner sādhana.
