maṇayo ratnapuṃjāśca gajādyāśca samṛddhayaḥ | te gṛhe'dya vibhāṃtīha yāni ratnāni tānyapi
“Jewels and heaps of precious gems, along with prosperities such as elephants and the like—indeed, all those treasures that exist—today they shine here in your house, those jewels as well.”
Suta Goswami (narrating the Yuddhakanda account to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pasha
The verse highlights that prosperity and splendor are ultimately expressions of grace; in a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, worldly abundance is meaningful when it supports dharma and devotion to Pati (Shiva), rather than binding the soul (paśu) through attachment (pāśa).
By implying that auspiciousness ‘shines’ where Shiva’s presence is honored, it supports the idea that Saguna Shiva worship—especially through the Linga—sanctifies the household, turning possessions into offerings and reminders of the Lord’s sovereignty over all wealth.
Offer a portion of one’s prosperity in Linga-puja (water, bilva leaves, lamp, and naivedya) while repeating the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating non-attachment and gratitude.
