Cause and Background
सनत्कुमार उवाच । इत्थं विसर्जितो दूतो घस्मराख्यस्सुबुद्धिमान् । तदेन्द्रेणागमत्तूर्ण्णं यत्र वीरो जलंधरः
sanatkumāra uvāca | itthaṃ visarjito dūto ghasmarākhyassubuddhimān | tadendreṇāgamattūrṇṇaṃ yatra vīro jalaṃdharaḥ
Sanatkumāra said: “Thus dismissed, the wise messenger named Ghasmara quickly went; sent by Indra, he hastened to the place where the hero Jalandhara was.”},{

It highlights the unfolding of karmic conflict and divine administration: even powerful beings act through orderly means (a messenger and mission), reminding the seeker that events move by dharma and divine governance under Śiva’s overarching sovereignty.
Though the verse is narrative, the Yuddhakhaṇḍa context ultimately points to Saguna Śiva as the supreme regulator of cosmic balance; the Devas’ actions and the Asura’s rise are resolved only in relation to Śiva’s will, which Linga-worship ritually affirms.
A practical takeaway is mindful swiftness and clarity in duty (kartavya) supported by japa—especially the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to keep intention pure while engaging in worldly responsibilities.
