मयस्य शिवस्तुतिः — Maya’s Hymn to Śiva
and Śiva’s Gracious Response
आगते च कलौ यूयं स्वमतं स्थापयिष्यथ । कलौ तु मोहिता मूढास्संग्रहीष्यंति वो मतम्
āgate ca kalau yūyaṃ svamataṃ sthāpayiṣyatha | kalau tu mohitā mūḍhāssaṃgrahīṣyaṃti vo matam
When the age of Kali arrives, you will establish your own doctrine; and in Kali-yuga, people—deluded and bewildered—will accept and adopt your view.
Suta Goswami (narrating the prophecy within the Yuddhakhaṇḍa context)
Tattva Level: pasha
Cosmic Event: Kali-yuga arrival and spread of moha (delusion)
It warns that Kali-yuga amplifies moha (delusion), so many will follow self-made views rather than the liberating path that leads the paśu (bound soul) toward Pati (Shiva) through right discernment and devotion.
In Kali-yuga, external opinions can replace authentic upāsanā; the verse implicitly urges steadiness in traditional Shaiva worship—reverence to the Linga and Saguna Shiva as the compassionate gateway to realizing Shiva beyond delusion.
The practical takeaway is to counter delusion with regular japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and disciplined Shaiva conduct such as applying bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and maintaining devotion with discernment.
