and Śiva’s Gracious Response

Sanatkumāra said: “Having thus heard the hymn of praise spoken by me, the Supreme Lord, Parameśvara, became pleased. O best of the twice-born, He then addressed me with respect.”
Sanatkumara
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Narrative moment: Śiva’s prasāda arises upon hearing stuti; it is not tied to a specific liṅga-sthala.
Significance: Models the bhakti-logic of tīrtha: sincere stuti and humility invite īśvara-prasāda; pilgrims emulate this through stotra and namaskāra at temples.
Type: stotra
It shows that sincere stuti (devotional praise) softens the heart of Parameśvara and draws His anugraha (grace), emphasizing the Shaiva Siddhanta principle that the Lord responds to devotion and grants upliftment to the soul.
The verse highlights Saguna worship—approaching Shiva as Parameśvara who hears, becomes pleased, and speaks. In Linga worship, stuti and mantra are central offerings that invite the Lord’s presence and blessing.
Offer daily stuti and japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—with reverence (ādara). The takeaway is consistent devotional recitation as a direct means to receive Shiva’s grace.
