दक्षयज्ञे सत्या अपमानबोधः — Satī Encounters Disrespect at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
सर्वे यूयं विमूढा हि शिवनिंदाः कलिप्रियाः । प्राप्स्यंति दण्डं नियतमखिलं च हराद्ध्रुवम्
sarve yūyaṃ vimūḍhā hi śivaniṃdāḥ kalipriyāḥ | prāpsyaṃti daṇḍaṃ niyatamakhilaṃ ca harāddhruvam
All of you are indeed deluded—revilers of Śiva and lovers of adharma (Kali’s ways). Certainly, from Hara (Lord Śiva) you shall unfailingly receive the fixed and complete punishment.
Sati (addressing Shiva’s detractors in the Daksha-yajna context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Bhairava
Shakti Form: Satī
Role: destructive
It warns that Shiva-ninda (blasphemy of Śiva) is a grave aparādha that strengthens bondage (pāśa) and invites inevitable karmic consequence, whereas reverence and bhakti open the way to Śiva’s grace and liberation.
Linga and Saguna-Śiva worship is rooted in honor, surrender, and right understanding of Śiva as Pati (the Lord). This verse condemns the opposite attitude—contempt—which blocks the devotee’s relationship with the Lord and undermines worship itself.
Avoid Shiva-aparādha and cultivate bhakti through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), respectful conduct toward Śiva and His devotees, and purificatory observances like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and Rudrākṣa with sincere repentance.
