दक्षयज्ञे मुनिदेवसमागमः / The Gathering of Sages and Gods at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
वेदवादरता यूयं सर्वे विष्णुपुरोगमाः । यज्ञं मे सफलं विप्रास्सुराः कुर्वंतु माऽचिरम्
vedavādaratā yūyaṃ sarve viṣṇupurogamāḥ | yajñaṃ me saphalaṃ viprāssurāḥ kurvaṃtu mā'ciram
You all are devoted to the Vedic ordinances, with Viṣṇu as your leader. O brāhmaṇas, may the gods soon make my sacrifice fruitful and successful.
Daksha
Tattva Level: pashu
Offering: naivedya
It shows Daksha’s reliance on Vedic ritual power and divine cooperation for success, hinting that ritual alone is incomplete without right orientation toward the Supreme—ultimately fulfilled in reverence to Śiva as Pati (the Lord) rather than mere formalism.
In the Daksha-yajña backdrop, the Purana contrasts external sacrifice with true worship: Saguna Śiva is approached through devotion and proper honoring of Śiva’s presence (often symbolized by the Liṅga), without which even grand rites become spiritually obstructed.
The practical takeaway is to unite yajña with Śiva-bhakti—begin rites with Śiva-smaraṇa (remembrance), Panchākṣarī japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), and purity disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa where appropriate, so outer action aligns with inner surrender.
