दक्षयज्ञे मुनिदेवसमागमः / The Gathering of Sages and Gods at Dakṣa’s Sacrifice
येये यज्ञोचिताश्शांताः पात्रभूतास्समागताः । वेदवेदार्थतत्त्वज्ञास्सर्वे यूयं दृढव्रताः
yeye yajñocitāśśāṃtāḥ pātrabhūtāssamāgatāḥ | vedavedārthatattvajñāssarve yūyaṃ dṛḍhavratāḥ
All of you assembled here—fit for this yajña, tranquil in conduct, worthy recipients, and knowers of the true purport of the Vedas and their meanings—are indeed steadfast in your sacred vows.
Sūta Gosvāmin
Tattva Level: pashu
It defines true spiritual eligibility: calmness, worthiness, and insight into Vedic truth—qualities that prepare a seeker to receive Shiva’s grace and progress toward liberation.
Linga-worship in the Shiva Purana is not merely external; it is supported by śānti (inner restraint), dṛḍha-vrata (steady observance), and understanding of Vedic purport—making devotion a fit vessel for Saguna Shiva’s blessings.
The verse emphasizes preparation: cultivate self-control and steady vows; in Shaiva practice this aligns with regular japa (especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and disciplined observances performed with purity and understanding.
