The verse highlights bhakti expressed through simple, pure offerings: Śiva Himself models reverent adornment, showing that devotion (ādara) and purity of intention are central, not external grandeur—an attitude that supports inner purification and readiness for grace.
Flower-offering is a classic mode of Saguna Śiva worship: as devotees decorate the Liṅga with flowers, this narrative mirrors that devotional aesthetic. It teaches that tangible offerings train the mind toward one-pointedness and loving remembrance, which ultimately leads toward realization of Śiva beyond form.
Offer fresh flowers—especially lotus if available—to Śiva or the Śiva-liṅga with reverence, while mentally repeating the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” cultivating steadiness and devotion during pūjā.
