This verse presents vivāha as a dharmic saṁskāra that stabilizes the mind and removes moha (delusion), making life conducive to parama-jñāna—higher understanding that supports devotion to Shiva and steady pursuit of liberation.
In the Shiva Purana’s householders’ framework, a righteous marriage becomes an ‘abode of auspiciousness’ where Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-pūjā—can be performed with regularity, purity of intent, and shared vows, turning domestic life into a disciplined field for bhakti.
The takeaway is to sanctify household life through daily Shiva upāsanā—simple Linga worship, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and observances like vrata/fasting on Shiva days—so that delusion diminishes and clarity (jñāna) increases.
