शिवसतीविवाहोत्तरलीला — Post‑marital Līlā of Śiva and Satī
इत्युक्ते वामदेवेन नद्याद्यास्स्वगणाश्च ते । महावेगा महावीरा नानास्थानेषु संययुः
ityukte vāmadevena nadyādyāssvagaṇāśca te | mahāvegā mahāvīrā nānāsthāneṣu saṃyayuḥ
When Vāmadeva had spoken thus, those (divine forces) beginning with the rivers, along with his own gaṇas, swift in their movement and heroic in power, proceeded and gathered at various places.
Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating the events of the Satīkhaṇḍa to the sages)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vāmadeva
Role: nurturing
The verse shows the harmony of Śiva’s cosmic order: when a divine command arises through Vāmadeva, nature-powers (like river-deities) and Śiva’s gaṇas respond instantly, symbolizing that in a Śaiva worldview all śaktis ultimately move in alignment with Pati (Śiva).
Vāmadeva is a saguna manifestation associated with Śiva’s governing power; the swift obedience of gaṇas and allied deities reflects the devotee’s ideal response in Linga-worship—steady alignment of mind and action with Śiva’s will, expressed through mantra, pūjā, and disciplined conduct.
The practical takeaway is prompt, focused sādhana: begin worship without delay—japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a collected mind, and, if following Śaiva ritual, wear rudrākṣa and apply tripuṇḍra (bhasma) to steady devotion and inner obedience.
