पार्वतीजन्मवर्णनम् / Description of Pārvatī’s Birth
देव्युवाच । हे मेने त्वं पुरा मां च सुसेवितवती रता । त्वद्भक्त्या सुप्रसन्नाहं वरन्दातुं गतान्तिकम्
devyuvāca | he mene tvaṃ purā māṃ ca susevitavatī ratā | tvadbhaktyā suprasannāhaṃ varandātuṃ gatāntikam
The Goddess said: “O Menā, formerly you served and worshipped Me with deep devotion and loving earnestness. Pleased greatly by your bhakti, I have now come near to you to grant a boon.”
Parvati (Devi)
Tattva Level: pati
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that sincere bhakti is the direct cause of divine grace: the Goddess becomes “suprasannā” (fully pleased) and personally approaches the devotee to bestow blessings—showing the Siddhānta emphasis on grace responding to devotion.
Although this line features the Goddess, it reflects the same Shaiva principle seen in Saguna worship (including Śiva-liṅga pūjā): heartfelt service and devotion invite the Lord’s/Devi’s nearness (sāmīpya) and boon-bestowing compassion.
The takeaway is steady devotional service (sevā) and prayerful worship; in Shaiva practice this is commonly expressed through daily liṅga-pūjā with pañcākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), along with simple observances like vibhūti (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as supports for remembrance.
