पार्वतीजन्मवर्णनम् / Description of Pārvatī’s Birth
तस्मिन्नवसरे देवी पूर्वशक्तिश्शिवा सती । आविर्बभूव पुरतो मेनाया निजरूपतः
tasminnavasare devī pūrvaśaktiśśivā satī | āvirbabhūva purato menāyā nijarūpataḥ
At that very moment, the Goddess—Satī, the former divine Śakti of Śiva—manifested directly before Menā, revealing herself in her own true form.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It affirms the continuity of Śiva-Śakti: the same divine Śakti (Satī) reappears by her own will, showing that the Goddess is not merely historical but an eternal, conscious power guiding devotees toward dharma and liberation.
Śakti’s visible manifestation supports Saguna worship—devotees approach Śiva through form, grace, and narrative līlā. In Shaiva understanding, Linga worship is fulfilled when Śiva is honored together with his Śakti, who enables devotion and realization.
A practical takeaway is to worship Śiva with Śakti-bhāva: japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” along with reverence for the Divine Mother, cultivating surrender so grace (anugraha) becomes ‘manifest’ in one’s inner life.
