By the merit of a devoted wife’s pativratā-dharma, three generations from her father’s line, three from her mother’s line, and three from her husband’s line enjoy heavenly happiness in Svarga.

The verse praises pativratā-dharma as a powerful form of dharmic śakti that generates puṇya not only for the practitioner but also uplifts multiple generations—showing how disciplined devotion and righteous living radiate benefit beyond the individual.
In the Parvatī-khaṇḍa, ideal household dharma is presented as supportive of Saguna Shiva-bhakti: purity, fidelity, and self-restraint become offerings in daily life, making the home a fit place for Shiva’s worship (including Linga-pūjā) and for receiving Shiva’s anugraha (grace).
The implied practice is steady vrata and daily Shiva-bhakti in the household—such as Linga worship with purity, japa of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and living with niyama (discipline); specific items like rudrākṣa or bhasma are not directly stated in this verse.
