Then Śambhu, in due accordance with rite, bestowed the gift of a cow upon the ācārya; and with glad devotion he also offered the great gifts—those auspicious donations that bring sacred well-being.

The verse upholds Śaiva dharma: even the Supreme Lord, as Śambhu, models humility and right conduct by honoring the ācārya and sanctifying worship through auspicious charity (dāna), which purifies karma and supports inner purity for liberation.
In Saguna worship, devotion is expressed through correct ritual order—pūjā, honoring the teacher/priest, and concluding gifts. These maṅgaladānas are part of completing Linga-worship properly, showing that outer rites should mirror inner reverence to Śiva.
It suggests completing Śiva-pūjā with dharmic giving—especially godāna or other maṅgala-dānas—done vidhivat (by scriptural procedure) and with prīti (devotional joy), alongside remembrance of Śiva (e.g., japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) as one’s inner offering.
