Saṃjñā
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: dipa
It presents bhakti as sevā—loving, reverent preparation for Śiva and Pārvatī—showing that devotion is expressed through attentive hospitality and purity of intention.
The verse reflects Saguna-upāsanā: honoring Śiva as the personal Lord (Śaṅkara) through offerings like lamps and respectful arrangements, paralleling how devotees serve the Liṅga with dīpa and upacāras.
Perform dīpa-sevā (lighting lamps) and offer tāmbūla as an upacāra with a secluded, focused mind—an inward “nirjana” attitude—while remembering Śiva with devotion (e.g., japa of the Pañcākṣarī, Om Namaḥ Śivāya).
