It models bhakti expressed through praise (jaya-jaya) and humble eligibility for grace, recognizing Śivā/Maheśvarī as the wise, maternal power inseparable from Śiva—an essential Shaiva Siddhanta emphasis on Shiva-Shakti unity.
By addressing the Goddess as Maheśvarī and Bhavāmbikā, the verse points to Saguna worship where Śiva is adored together with His śakti; such devotion supports Linga worship as the manifest focus of Śiva’s grace, with Shakti as the enabling power of approach and blessing.
A simple practice is japa with reverent salutations—repeating “jaya-jaya” and meditating on Śiva with Śivā (Shiva-Shakti) before requesting any boon; this aligns with devotional preparation often paired with Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) in Shaiva practice.
