मेनावरलाभवर्णनम् — Description of Menā’s Attainment of Boons
and the worship leading to Umā’s advent
दिव्यावयवसंयुक्ता तेजोमण्डलमध्यगा । उवाच विहसन्ती सा मेनां प्रत्यक्षतां गता
divyāvayavasaṃyuktā tejomaṇḍalamadhyagā | uvāca vihasantī sā menāṃ pratyakṣatāṃ gatā
Endowed with celestial limbs and abiding in the midst of a radiant circle of splendor, she—smiling—spoke to Menā, having revealed herself directly before her.
Pārvatī (in a divine, radiant form)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Shakti Form: Gaurī
Role: teaching
It depicts śakti-anugraha (grace): the Divine becomes pratyakṣa—directly experienced—showing that true spiritual assurance arises not merely from inference but from revealed presence granted through devotion and purity.
The verse emphasizes saguna-darśana—Divinity perceived with form and radiance. In Shaiva practice, the Śiva-liṅga similarly serves as an accessible focus where the formless Supreme is approached through a sacred, visible support, culminating in inner recognition.
Meditate on tejas (inner light) while repeating the Pañcākṣarī—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—and cultivate bhakti so that worship moves from outward seeing to pratyakṣa inner experience; a simple aid is applying tripuṇḍra (bhasma) as a reminder of Śiva-tattva and purity.
