Brahmā’s Enchantment by Desire during the Wedding Rites
त्वम्ब्रह्म पूर्णममृतं विशोकं निर्गुणम्परम् । आनंदमात्रमव्यग्रमविकारमनात्मकम्
tvambrahma pūrṇamamṛtaṃ viśokaṃ nirguṇamparam | ānaṃdamātramavyagramavikāramanātmakam
You are Brahman—perfect and complete, immortal and sorrowless; the supreme, attributeless Reality. You are pure bliss alone—undistracted, unchanging, and beyond all limited individuality.
Parvati
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Liṅgodbhava
Significance: Non-dual insight: seeing one substance (Śiva) through changing names/forms reduces bheda-buddhi and supports liberation-oriented worship.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: teaching
It declares Shiva as the supreme Reality—complete, deathless, sorrowless, and nirguṇa—guiding the devotee from limited identity toward liberation (moksha) through recognition of Shiva as pure, changeless bliss.
In Shaiva practice, the Linga and other saguna forms are accessible supports for devotion and concentration; this verse reveals their inner truth—Shiva ultimately transcends attributes as nirguṇa Brahman, which saguna worship helps the seeker realize.
Meditate on Shiva as “nirguṇam param” while performing Linga-pūjā with Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya); let the mind become avyagra (undistracted) and contemplate Shiva as avikāra (unchanging) bliss.
