Fixing His gaze upon Śivā (Pārvatī), Lord Śiva forgot all else. His whole body thrilled with gooseflesh, and, overcome with joy, He looked upon Gaurī with loving eyes.

Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It highlights the sacred intimacy of Śiva and Śakti: when consciousness (Śiva) rests in its own power (Śivā/Gaurī), worldly distractions fall away, and the heart naturally overflows with bliss—an emblem of devotion ripening into inner absorption.
The verse emphasizes Saguna devotion—Śiva’s tangible, compassionate presence and emotion. In Linga worship, the devotee similarly fixes attention on the Lord’s manifest symbol, letting all else be forgotten as love and reverence deepen.
Single-pointed dhyāna (meditation): steady the gaze and mind on Śiva with the feeling of devotion, supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and (where traditional) Tripuṇḍra bhasma and rudrākṣa to stabilize remembrance.
