मेनायाः क्रोध-विलापः — Menā’s Lament and Reproach
to the Sage
न माता न पिता भ्राता न बन्धुर्गोत्रजोऽपि हि । नो सुरूपं न चातुर्य्यं न गुहं वास्य किंचन
na mātā na pitā bhrātā na bandhurgotrajo'pi hi | no surūpaṃ na cāturyyaṃ na guhaṃ vāsya kiṃcana
He has neither mother nor father, neither brother nor any kinsman of the lineage. He possesses neither handsome form nor cleverness, and there is no hidden excellence in him whatsoever.

It teaches that worldly supports—family identity, lineage, beauty, and cleverness—do not constitute true spiritual worth; in Shaiva understanding, liberation depends on humility, devotion, and Shiva’s grace rather than social or personal qualifications.
Linga-worship emphasizes the Supreme beyond name-and-form and beyond worldly labels; this verse reinforces approaching Saguna Shiva with surrender, not with pride in birth or personal accomplishments.
Cultivate humility while doing japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and offering simple Linga-pūjā with bhasma and bilva—focusing on inner purity rather than external status.
