शिवशिवयोर्जगत्पितृमातृत्व-प्रतिपादनं तथा मेनायाः विमोहः (Śiva–Śivā as Cosmic Father and Mother; Menā’s Delusion and the Sages’ Intervention)
तदारभ्य शिवामाता ज्ञानभ्रष्टा बभूव ह । सुताविवाहं रुद्रेण योगिना तेन नेच्छति
tadārabhya śivāmātā jñānabhraṣṭā babhūva ha | sutāvivāhaṃ rudreṇa yoginā tena necchati
From that moment onward, the Mother of Śivā was bereft of right discernment; therefore she did not wish her daughter’s marriage with Rudra, the ascetic Yogin.

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Rudra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It highlights how worldly perception can obscure spiritual discernment: seeing Rudra only as an outward ascetic, Menā’s understanding falters, whereas Śiva as Pati is the supreme auspicious reality whose union with Śakti (Pārvatī) restores cosmic and inner harmony.
Rudra is described as a Yogin—an outwardly detached form of Saguna Śiva. Linga-worship trains the devotee to look past external appearances and recognize the same Śiva as the inner Self and supreme Lord (Pati), worthy of reverence despite social or sensory judgments.
Cultivate Shiva-darśana through japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steady meditation on Śiva as the Yogin; this counters “jñānabhraṁśa” (loss of discernment) and supports bhakti grounded in right understanding.
