Cosmic Event: Tapas-heat crisis (tapas-tejas overwhelming the worlds)
It shows how, when the cosmos is shaken, even exalted beings seek guidance; from a Shaiva Siddhanta lens, such crises point to the limits of worldly supports (pāśa) and the need to turn toward the divine governance of Pati, ultimately fulfilled in Śiva’s supreme lordship.
The verse highlights seeking divine refuge and counsel during upheaval; in practice, devotees approach Saguna forms—especially the Śiva-liṅga—as a stable focus for surrender, prayer, and restoration of inner order when the outer world feels ‘burnt’ by suffering or fear.
A key takeaway is swift, reverent turning to the Lord: perform Śiva-smaraṇa with the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), offer water and bilva to the liṅga, and apply tripuṇḍra-bhasma as a reminder of impermanence and Śiva’s protecting grace.
