tatra gatvā hariṃ dṛṣṭvā vilasaṃtaṃ sukhāsane | supraṇamya susaṃstūya prāvocaṃ sāṃjaliḥ suraiḥ
Going there and seeing Hari (Viṣṇu) delighting as he sat upon a comfortable seat, I bowed down deeply, praised him well, and then—standing with folded hands in the presence of the gods—spoke.

It highlights the Shaiva virtue of vinaya (humility): approaching the divine with reverence, praise, and folded hands—an inner discipline that purifies the seeker before higher Shaiva teachings unfold.
Though Hari (Viṣṇu) is addressed here, the Purana’s method is to establish proper bhakti and protocol of worship—bowing, stuti, and sāñjali—qualities equally essential in Saguna Shiva worship and in approaching the Śiva-liṅga with devotion.
The verse suggests sāñjali-bhāva (prayer with joined palms), praṇāma, and stuti as preparatory acts—practices often paired in Shaiva ritual with mantra-japa (especially pañcākṣarī) and mental recollection of the Lord.
