It highlights a dharmic pattern in Shaiva narratives: sincere inquiry (jijñāsā) and seeking guidance through trusted companions, which supports steady devotion and right understanding on the path toward Shiva-bhakti.

The takeaway is the practice of purposeful inquiry before undertaking vrata or japa—seeking proper instruction for Shiva-upāsanā such as Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and observances connected with Mahāśivarātri.
