Brahmā said: “Having thus heard the words spoken by their father at that time, the two friends went to their mother; and along with her—who instructed them—they proceeded accordingly.”
Brahma
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
The verse highlights dhārmic conduct: hearing an elder’s directive with humility and then seeking the mother’s guidance before acting, reflecting disciplined decision-making aligned with righteousness.
While the verse is narrative rather than ritualistic, it supports the Shaiva ethic of śraddhā and obedience—qualities essential for orderly sādhana, including Saguna Shiva worship and temple/linga-centered practices.
A practical takeaway is to begin worship with respectful saṅkalpa and guru/elder-ājñā (right authorization), then proceed with steady discipline—useful for daily japa of the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) even though it is not explicitly mentioned in this verse.
