Maddened by the clamor and tumult, the rasāṅkharas—struck down by the gods—then, O dear one, ran here and there in scattered bands, fleeing in all directions.

It portrays how adharma-driven forces, when confronted by divine order, fall into fear and dispersion—symbolizing the scattering of inner impurities when grace and dharma prevail under Shiva’s cosmic governance.
Though the verse is martial in tone, it supports the Shiva Purana’s Saguna framework: devas act under the higher sovereignty of Shiva, and devotion to Shiva (often through Linga-worship) is presented as the stabilizing power that defeats chaos and restores order.
As a practical takeaway, steady the mind against agitation by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and, where appropriate, Shaiva disciplines like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as aids to recollection and inner protection.
