Anasūyā said: “O compassionate one, if you are truly gracious and favorable to me, then you must remain here until my lord (husband) departs.”
Anasūyā
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
It highlights bhakti expressed as humble petition: when divine grace (prasāda) is present, the devotee seeks protection and right order (dharma) in life, trusting the compassionate power that supports righteous intention.
The verse reflects Saguna devotion—addressing the Divine as “compassionate” and personally responsive. In Linga-worship, the same attitude is central: the devotee approaches Shiva’s manifest presence seeking grace and auspicious safeguarding of dharmic life.
The takeaway is prayerful supplication with steadiness: offer respectful hospitality (upacāra) to Shiva’s presence, repeat the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” and maintain a calm, compassionate mind aligned with dharma.
