Completion Rite for the Śivarātri Observance
मया भक्त्यनुसारेण व्रतमेतत्कृतं शिवा । न्यूनं सम्पूर्णतां यातु प्रसादात्तव शङ्कर
mayā bhaktyanusāreṇa vratametatkṛtaṃ śivā | nyūnaṃ sampūrṇatāṃ yātu prasādāttava śaṅkara
O auspicious Lord Śiva, I have undertaken this vow according to my capacity of devotion. O Śaṅkara, by Your grace, may whatever is deficient in it attain completeness.

Sthala Purana: A standard ‘nyūna-sampūrṇa’ prayer: after completing vrata/pūjā at a Śiva-sthāna, the devotee asks Śiva to perfect any deficiencies—highlighting that ritual completeness ultimately depends on divine prasāda.
Significance: Assures pilgrims that imperfect performance (due to limitation of means/knowledge) can still become spiritually efficacious through Śiva’s grace—encouraging sincere practice over anxiety.

In Linga/Saguṇa worship, offerings and vows are acts of devotion directed to the compassionate Lord; this verse is the closing surrender that asks Śiva to accept the worship and rectify any ritual or inner deficiency.
It implies concluding a vrata with a kṣamā-prārthanā (forgiveness/completion prayer) and surrendering results to Śiva—often alongside japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and a final offering.
