Viṣṇoḥ Sahasranāma-stotreṇa Śiva-prasādaḥ
Vishnu’s Thousand-Name Hymn and Shiva’s Grace
यश्च प्रातस्समुत्थाय पूजां कृत्वा मदीयिकाम् । पठते मत्समक्षं वै नित्यं सिद्धिर्न दूरतः
yaśca prātassamutthāya pūjāṃ kṛtvā madīyikām | paṭhate matsamakṣaṃ vai nityaṃ siddhirna dūrataḥ
Whoever rises in the early morning, performs worship offered to Me, and then recites this regularly as though in My very presence—his siddhi, spiritual attainment, is never far away.
Lord Shiva (as the deity praising the fruit of daily worship and recitation in the Kotirudrasaṃhitā context)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Significance: Defines a daily ‘micro-pilgrimage’: dawn rising, pūjā, and pāṭha ‘before Śiva’—a home/temple regimen promising siddhi through proximity (sāmīpya-bhāva) to the Lord.
Type: stotra
Offering: pushpa
It teaches that dawn-time discipline (prātaḥ-sādhanā), Shiva-pūjā, and steady recitation done with the feeling of Shiva’s immediate presence quickly ripen into siddhi—spiritual fruition through Shiva’s grace.
The instruction assumes Saguna upāsanā—approaching Shiva in a worshipable form (such as the Śiva-liṅga) and then reciting with bhāva that one is directly before Him (mat-samakṣam), making the ritual and the recitation one continuous act of devotion.
Rise at dawn, perform Shiva-pūjā (optionally with pañcākṣarī japa—“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), then recite the relevant Shiva Purana passage daily with focused attention and the inner conviction of being in Shiva’s presence.
