The Manifestation/Origin of the Rāmeśvara Liṅga
वानराणां बलं ह्येतच्चंचलं युद्धसाधनम् । ममकार्यं कथं सिद्धं भविष्यति प्रियाप्तये
vānarāṇāṃ balaṃ hyetaccaṃcalaṃ yuddhasādhanam | mamakāryaṃ kathaṃ siddhaṃ bhaviṣyati priyāptaye
“This strength of the monkeys is indeed fickle—an unstable means for war. How, then, will my undertaking be accomplished, so that I may attain my beloved?”

Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Teaches that worldly supports (even strong allies) are unstable; steadiness arises through devotion and Śiva’s grace rather than mere contingent power.
It highlights the instability of worldly supports (fickle “strength”) and points, in a Shaiva Siddhanta spirit, toward seeking Pati (Lord Shiva) as the steady refuge who perfects righteous aims when the mind and allies waver.
When external means feel unreliable, the devotee turns to Saguna Shiva—worshipped as the Linga—as the stable center of grace (anugraha) that removes obstacles and brings fruition to dharmic intentions.
A practical takeaway is japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with steady breath and mind, ideally supported by Tripuṇḍra bhasma and Rudrākṣa, to replace agitation with Shiva-centered resolve.
