The Greatness of Avimukta–Vārāṇasī and Viśveśvara

O Pārvatī, it is indeed true: in this world, birth may be proper or improper, and may occur with deficiency or with excess. When both these (defect and excess) are worn away, liberation (mokṣa) arises.
Lord Shiva

Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Shakti Form: Pārvatī

Shiva explains that embodied existence is shaped by imbalance—deficiency and excess—reflecting karmic distortion. When these imbalances are exhausted and purified, the soul becomes fit for moksha, aligning with the Shaiva Siddhanta stress on removal of pāśa (bondage/impurities).
Worship of Saguna Shiva through the Linga steadies the seeker and disciplines desire and aversion—the roots of ‘too little’ and ‘too much.’ Such devotion and right practice help burn karmic residues so that imbalance is dissolved and liberation becomes possible.
A practical takeaway is regular japa of the Pañcākṣarī mantra ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with disciplined living, supported by Shaiva rites like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa, to reduce extremes and hasten the kṣaya (wearing away) of bondage.
