Meanwhile, there at Kāmarūpeśvara, the Lord began deep and unwavering meditation, right before the earthly king at that time.

Sthala Purana: Kāmarūpeśvara is a regional Śiva-sthāna name (often associated with Kāmarūpa/Assam traditions). Here it functions as the locus where Śiva initiates profound dhyāna in the king’s presence.
Significance: Highlights dhyāna-darśana: seeing Śiva absorbed in meditation is portrayed as purifying and stabilizing the mind of the devotee/king.
Role: teaching
It highlights Śiva as Pati (the supreme Lord) whose silent dhyāna itself becomes a means of grace, drawing the devotee/king from worldly kingship toward inner stillness and liberation.
Kāmarūpeśvara is a Saguna manifestation revered as a Jyotirliṅga; the verse frames the Lord’s presence as accessible and worship-worthy, where the devotee witnesses Śiva’s yogic majesty and is led into liṅga-bhakti.
The takeaway is dhyāna before the liṅga—steady contemplation of Śiva, ideally supported by japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and traditional Śaiva observances like bhasma (tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa.
