लंकां स गतवान्मां च त्यक्त्वात्रैव महाबलः । मया न दृष्ट्वा सा लंका ह्यत्रैव निवसाम्यहम्
laṃkāṃ sa gatavānmāṃ ca tyaktvātraiva mahābalaḥ | mayā na dṛṣṭvā sā laṃkā hyatraiva nivasāmyaham
That mighty one went to Laṅkā, leaving me here behind. Since I have not beheld that Laṅkā, I remain dwelling in this very place.

Tattva Level: pashu
It highlights the contrast between outer pilgrimage and inner limitation: when circumstances prevent travel, steadfast dwelling with remembrance and devotion remains valid—Shiva, as Pati (Lord), is reached by bhakti and sincere intent, not merely by geography.
In Jyotirliṅga contexts, the verse indirectly underscores that even if one cannot physically reach a famed kṣetra, one can still orient life toward Saguna Shiva through liṅga-upāsanā—daily worship, offering, and mantra—making ‘here’ a place of grace through devotion.
Take a simple sankalpa (vow of devotion) and maintain daily Panchakshara japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with liṅga worship; if following Shaiva practice, add Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrāksha as supports for steadiness when pilgrimage is not possible.
