By the radiant power of their accumulated merit, happiness flourished upon the earth; just as the moon steadily increases without interruption in the bright fortnight (śukla-pakṣa).

It teaches that collective punya (merit) and dharmic conduct create a tangible upliftment of life on earth, growing steadily like the moon in the bright fortnight—an image of gradual, sustained auspiciousness supported by Shiva’s order (dharma).
In the Kotirudra context, devotion expressed through Linga worship and Jyotirlinga pilgrimage is a chief source of punya; such merit ripens into increasing peace and prosperity, reflecting Saguna Shiva’s accessible grace in the world.
Adopt steady, uninterrupted practice—daily Panchakshara japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), Linga abhiṣeka, and vrata/pujā on śukla-pakṣa days—so merit accumulates continuously rather than sporadically.
