Andhakeśvara-liṅga Māhātmya and Śiva’s Subjugation of Andhaka
bhavāṃśca pūjito yena tenaivāhaṃ prapūjitā | kartavyaṃ hi bhavadbhiśca svīyaṃ karma sadā suta
He by whom you have been worshipped has, by that very act, worshipped Me as well. Therefore, you too must always carry out your own ordained duty, O son.
Lord Shiva (implied Shaiva siddhanta teaching within Kotirudrasaṃhitā dialogue)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Sthala Purana: Not a site-legend; it states a core Śaiva principle: worship of Śiva is inseparable from honoring Śivā (and vice versa) when understood as the divine couple.
Significance: General pilgrimage ethic: pūjā offered to Śiva with right understanding includes reverence to Śakti; reinforces integrated temple practice (Śiva shrine with Devī sannidhi).
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: pushpa
The verse teaches that sincere worship offered to a devotee or divine representative ultimately reaches Shiva; therefore, one should remain steady in svadharma, performing duty as an offering to Pati (Shiva), the inner Lord.
It reflects the Shaiva view that Saguna worship (such as Linga-pūjā) is not isolated ritual but a God-centered life: honouring Shiva’s presence through devotion, reverence, and right action—so the act of worship naturally culminates in Shiva’s satisfaction.
Perform daily Shiva-upāsanā alongside one’s duties: offer actions mentally to Shiva with the Panchākṣarī mantra “Om Namaḥ Śivāya,” maintaining purity and steadiness (optionally with bhasma/Tripuṇḍra and Rudrākṣa as aids to remembrance).
