Thereafter, one should consecrate that kumbha by reciting Vedic mantras. Then, following the procedure taught in the Śruti, one should perform its worship while inwardly remembering Lord Śiva.

Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Significance: Śruti-grounded mantra-consecration frames the rite as orthodox and efficacious; remembrance (smaraṇa) of Śiva aligns outer ritual with inner devotion.
Type: rudram
Role: teaching
It teaches that outer ritual (Śruti-based worship) becomes spiritually fruitful when joined to inner Shiva-smarana—devotional recollection of Pati (Śiva) as the liberating Lord.
The consecrated kumbha supports formal worship (upacāra) offered to Saguna Śiva—often in Linga worship—while remembrance keeps the focus on Śiva as the indwelling reality behind the symbol.
Abhimantrana of the kumbha with Vedic mantras, followed by Śruti-prescribed puja, performed with continuous Shiva-smaraṇa (steady recollection/meditation on Lord Śiva).
