Role: nurturing
It declares Śiva as Pati—the primal cause and supreme Lord—who, while remaining one, functions as the powers of creation, preservation, and dissolution, and is worshipped devotionally as Sāmbā (Śiva united with Śakti).
By praising Śiva “with Ambā” and “with gaṇas,” the verse emphasizes Saguna worship—approaching the formless supreme through a gracious, worshippable form (such as the Śiva-liṅga) while understanding Him as the inner reality of the Trimūrti.
Use this as a nāma-mantra salutation in japa and pūjā—especially alongside the Pañcākṣarī (Namaḥ Śivāya), offering water/bilva to the liṅga with the contemplation that Śiva alone shines through Rudra, Viṣṇu, and Brahmā.
