Then, by means of mudrās (hand-gestures), he should display the mudrās beginning with sthāpanā (installation) and the rest. Thereafter, he should perform aṅga-nyāsa upon his limbs using the mantra “hrāṃ, hrīṃ, hrūṃ,” and then proceed further.

It teaches that Shaiva worship is not only outer offering but also inner sanctification: through mudrā and aṅga-nyāsa, the sādhaka consecrates body and mind as a fit seat for Lord Shiva’s presence (Pati), loosening the bonds (pāśa) that bind the soul (paśu).
Mudrās like “sthāpanā” are used to ritually establish and invoke Saguna Shiva in the liṅga or the worship-space; aṅga-nyāsa aligns the worshipper’s body with the mantra-power so that liṅga-pūjā becomes a complete, consecrated act rather than a merely external rite.
Perform mudrās connected with installation and related acts, then do aṅga-nyāsa on the body using the bīja-syllables “hrāṃ, hrīṃ, hrūṃ” as part of mantra-japa and preparatory worship before continuing the Shiva-pūjā sequence.
