Then, together with his radiant Śakti, I invoke Mārtaṇḍa (the Sun) thereafter; saying, “I invoke you—namah (obeisance),” he should be duly invoked by the rite known as Vāhana (bringing near).

It teaches the disciplined step of āvāhana—invoking a divine principle—here the Sun with his radiance, as a supportive power within a Shaiva ritual sequence oriented toward right worship and inner clarity.
In Saguna worship, subsidiary deities and cosmic powers may be invoked in proper order as limbs of the rite; their radiance and functions are offered back into the Lord’s worship, helping the devotee steady the mind for Linga-upāsanā.
Practice āvāhana with a short mantra—“āvāhayāmi, namaḥ”—invoking the deity’s śakti (here, light/radiance) and mentally placing that luminosity in the worship-space and within the heart before continuing the puja.
