rājitasya dvādaśabhistasya hṛtpaṃkajodare | praṇavaṃ pūrvamuddhṛtya hrāṃhrīṃsastadanantaram
Within the heart-lotus of that radiant Lord, adorned with twelve (powers/manifestations), one should first draw forth the Praṇava “Oṁ”; thereafter, in due sequence, place the bīja-syllables “hrāṃ” and “hrīṃ”.
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Mantra: oṃ … hrāṃ hrīṃ
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Lalitā
Role: teaching
It teaches inner worship (antar-yāga): meditating on Shiva in the heart-lotus and commencing japa with the Praṇava, indicating that realization of Pati (Shiva) is approached through purified consciousness and mantra-led contemplation.
Though framed as inner visualization, it supports Saguna Shiva-upāsanā: the devotee installs Shiva in the heart as one would establish the Liṅga in a shrine, beginning with Oṁ and then specific bīja-syllables to invoke Shiva’s manifest grace and power.
A dhyāna-japa sequence: focus on the heart-lotus, chant Oṁ first, then follow with the bījas “hrāṃ” and “hrīṃ” as instructed, maintaining steady attention and devotional intent toward Shiva.
