धेनुशंखाख्यमुद्रे च दर्शयेदथ देशिकः । पुनस्स्वपुरतश्शंखं दक्षिणे देश उत्तमे
dhenuśaṃkhākhyamudre ca darśayedatha deśikaḥ | punassvapurataśśaṃkhaṃ dakṣiṇe deśa uttame
Then the ācārya should demonstrate the mudrās called Dhenu and Śaṅkha. Thereafter, he should again place the sacred conch before himself, on the auspicious southern side.

It emphasizes that Śiva-worship is not merely emotional devotion but a disciplined sādhana guided by an ācārya, where mudrās and proper placement of ritual items help purify attention and establish sacred order.
Mudrās and the conch are supportive upacāras that prepare the worshipper and the ritual space so the mind can steadily approach Saguna Śiva (as worshipped through the Liṅga) with purity, reverence, and correct procedure.
Perform the Dhenu and Śaṅkha mudrās under a teacher’s guidance, then position the conch properly (to the south/right side as instructed) as part of the preparatory sequence for Śiva-pūjā and mantra-focused worship.
