Thus, a true disciple endowed with discernment becomes fit to be a guru—indeed, he is Shiva Himself. Without any doubt, he realizes that Shiva is the very essence of all manifestation: the Deities of the cosmos, the sacred yantras, and the mantras.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailasa Samhita teachings to the sages, presenting Shiva’s siddhanta on guruhood and mantra–yantra)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Role: liberating
It teaches that right discernment (vicāra) transforms a sincere seeker into a realized guide, because true knowledge culminates in recognizing Shiva as the inner Self of all religious forms—cosmic deities, yantras, and mantras—removing doubt and leading toward liberation.
Linga and Saguna worship employ devatā, mantra, and yantra as sacred supports; this verse grounds them in siddhanta by affirming that their power is Shiva Himself—so external worship becomes inward realization of Pati (Shiva) as the essence behind every form.
Practice steady vicāra (discriminative contemplation) alongside japa of a Shiva-mantra (classically the Panchakshara, “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), treating mantra and yantra as Shiva’s own presence—worship that matures into non-doubtful Shiva-realization.
