The eternal Śruti declares, “Om—this indeed is all.” Therefore, beginning from that primordial principle, the creation of the universe is expounded.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Kailāsa-saṃhitā teaching to the sages, summarizing Śruti)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadyojāta
It grounds Shiva-Purāṇic cosmology in Śruti by affirming Om as the all-encompassing sacred sound, from which the teaching on the universe’s manifestation is introduced—pointing the seeker to the supreme principle (Śiva-tattva) beyond and within creation.
Om functions as a bridge between Nirguṇa truth and Saguṇa worship: the devotee contemplates Om as the subtle source, while honoring the Liṅga as the accessible, worshipful form through which that same supreme reality is approached.
Japa and dhyāna on Om—especially as the seed preceding Shaiva mantra practice (e.g., Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—is implied as a contemplative entry into understanding creation and returning the mind to Śiva.
